For your second trip to Japan

You know Kyoto. Now climb its mountains.

Eight guided routes around Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. Shrines on the summits, trails that are nearly empty on weekdays, and the whole city at your feet.

Scroll to walk them ↓

山How we work in the mountains

  1. We check the weather the day before

If the mountain isn't safe, we move the date or refund your deposit. The guide decides, no debate.

  2. Routes we have walked

Each route sheet says how to get there, how long each stretch takes and what to bring. Nothing improvised.

  3. First-aid kit and navigation

The guide carries a first-aid kit and has the route loaded. We go at the pace of the slowest in the group.

  4. Honest grading

Hard, Technical and Expert Only routes are for over-18s. If in doubt, start with a Moderate one.

  5. In writing

For hard routes or groups of more than 4, we sign a simple contract: route, date and price.

  6. Travel insurance

We recommend one that covers hiking. It's cheap, and in the mountains it's the sensible thing.

Which one calls you?

Send us the route, the date and how many of you there are. We reply with the plan and a fixed price.
